Paulina Ciucka is the first resident of the residency program for translators of Kraków UNESCO City of Literature in 2022!


We already know who will be the first resident at Pałac Potockich in 2022. Paulina Ciucka will spend March in Kraków - we are looking forward to it!

Paulina Ciucka - translator, philologist, editor. Graduated from Baltic Studies at Warsaw University and Lithuanian Studies at Vilnius University. She translates mainly from Baltic languages, occasionally from Slavic. In 2016, she published her translation of Alvydas Šlepikas' famous Lithuanian novel “My Name is Marytė” (nominated for the Angelus Award). In 2019, she was awarded the Poetry Spring Prize, Lithuania's largest poetry festival, for her volume "zastrzegam sobie prawo do milczenia", which is her original selection of poems by Eugenijus Ališanka. She has received scholarships of the Lithuanian Culture Institute, Staromiejski Dom Kultury as well as Polish Ministry of Culture. She lives in Warsaw.
