Writer’s Residence in Private Apartment on Farm in Stange, Innlandet: south-east Norway. Open call.
Deadline: 1st of July 2021.  Informations about the results will be given by the middle of July.
There are two periods available during the coming winter season:
1) Monday 1st of November 2021 – Friday 17th of December
2) Tuesday 4th of January 2022 – Thursday 31st of March 2022.
Writers/artists who work on the topic of free speech /human rights and/or food/food production is a main target group of this residency.
The residency (rent, electricity, internet) is free to the writer.
The writer will be given social and professional networking opportunities.
It is very appreciated if the recipients of the program present their projects on e.g. a book event, a reading or a class. The Arstad Artist in Residence program is usually aimed at foreign writers. However, since there is still a huge uncertainty about the travel restrictions in November, the residency will also accept writers living in Norway.
There is only one guest writer/artist on the farm at one time.
Arstad Nordre Farm is beautifully situated on a southwest-facing elevation with a view towards Lake Mjøsa, 5 km south of the town of Hamar, 1 hour from Gardermoen Airport, and 1.5 hours from Oslo.
The artist’s apartement is located in the old farmhand’s house, built in 1900.
Arstad AIR is an artist-run residence. Arstad Nordre Farm is owned and run by author Ellen Fjestad and her family. Hosts live in the house next to the artist apartment.
