RESIDENCY PROGRAMME FOR COMIC ARTISTS | KRAKÓW | ANGOULÊME

The call for applications for the international residency programme for comic artists is now open. The programme is the result of a collaboration between two UNESCO Cities of Literature – Kraków and Angoulême. As part of this partnership, one person will spend July in Angoulême, and at the same time Krakow will host an artist from France.

 

The call is addressed to artists who have made their comics debut, are connected to Kraków and actively participate in comics-related initiatives. Apart from the accommodation and reimbursement of travel costs, the participants will also receive a scholarship. The residencies aim to support young artists by providing them with convenient conditions to devote themselves to creative work for a month.

 

The programme is part of the year-long literary residency program of the Kraków UNESCO City of Literature . Strategic partners of the programme are: Kraków Comics Association, which is responsible for the residency in Kraków, and Cité internationale de la bande dessinée et de l’image, which organises the residency in Angoulême.

 

Requirements :

– connection with Kraków (place of birth, place of residence, other),

– at least one completed comic project (published book or other documented artistic form),
– work on a project during the residency,

Residency term: July 2021

Duration of residency: one month
