Residency Opportunity in South Korea for writers connected to Edinburgh!

Wonju UNESCO City of Literature is pleased to offer an eight-week residency at the Toji Cultural Centre in South Korea, open to writers with a strong connection to Edinburgh or another UNESCO City of Literature.
– Residency dates: 1 September – 31 October 2025
– Location: Toji Cultural Centre, Wonju, South Korea
– Application deadline: 11 July 2025
– Notification of result: by 30 July 2025
This fully-funded opportunity includes:
– Round-trip airfare
– Transport to/from the residency
– Accommodation with a personal workspace
– Organic meals at the Centre’s cafeteria
Up to 19 other international writers and artists will be in residence during this period, creating a vibrant and inspiring creative community in a peaceful, natural setting.
There are no formal project requirements – this is time and space for your own creative work.
Eligibility:
– Writers must be connected to Edinburgh
– Minimum B2 level of English for day-to-day communication
– Residency is open to published and emerging writers of all genres
