Arraiolos
The Artist-in-Residence Program aims to bring together artists from diverse disciplines for a focused residency period of at least four weeks. The program encourages participants to share their knowledge and creative processes with the local community while fostering a meaningful connection to the surrounding region.
General residency program features:
-Weekly project follow-ups to provide artists with guidance and support.
-Technical and logistical assistance for artistic work.
-Thematic workshops.
-Field trips to explore the natural, historical, and textile heritage of the region.
-Resident artist lectures at local schools and university.
-A monthly calendar of regional events, connecting artists to the local cultural scene.
-Open studio sessions.
Residency periods in 2026
Autumn
2–29 September 2026
1 – 28 October 2026
30 October – 26 November 2026
– Last minute applications are accepted
– Artist duos, couple of artists or groups can apply together;
– Minimum period is 4 weeks, maximum is 3 months.
Fee 2026
The cost of the residency is 275€/week and covers:
-Participation in the program.
-Private accommodation within the residency houses.
-Studio space and access to necessary equipment.
-Use of common areas, such as the equipped kitchen, living rooms, library, terrace, patio, and garden.
-Household utilities, including Wi-Fi, free access to laundry facilities, and bicycles.
Funding
Once selected, organisers will provide an invitation letter and assist you in your search for funding opportunities.
