Residency program for writers and translators organized by the Baltic Center of Writers and Translators.
BCWT is based in the medieval city of Visby on the largest island in the Baltic Sea – Gotland. With residencies as a starting point the centre create links and networks across national borders, help to strengthen freedom of expression and dissemination of knowledge, build bridges between nationalities, languages and cultures. Seminars, workshops, conferences and literary events, organized by the BCWT mostly in cooperation with international, national and local organisations follow the same vision. The Centre welcomes applicants from all countries – but priority of residence is given to literary professionals from the countries of the Baltic Sea region and Scandinavia, i.e. Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden.
Interested persons may apply for a scholarship for a period of 3 to 5 weeks. Applications can be submitted at any time on this website: http://bcwt.org/GetDoc?meta_id=1403 and will be considered on a rolling basis.
The consideration time is approximately two months.
