Camargo Fellowship 2027–2028 | residency in France

The Camargo Foundation is now accepting applications for its 10-week residency programme in Cassis, France, taking place in fall 2027 and spring 2028. This year’s call is expected to be the last public open call before the Foundation introduces a new selection process.

The fellowship supports research-based projects across three main categories:

SCHOLARS – researchers in the arts and humanities working on French and Francophone cultures, or cross-cultural studies engaging with the Mediterranean region. Applicants should hold a PhD and have a postdoctoral research record, or be in the final stages of their PhD.

THINKERS – professionals and practitioners in cultural and creative fields, including curators, journalists, critics, urban planners and independent scholars, whose work engages with critical thought, the arts and society.

ARTISTS – artists with at least five years of professional practice who are developing a new work or project and can demonstrate a professional track record through exhibitions, performances, publications, grants, awards or similar achievements.

The residency includes a €3,500 stipend (€350 per week) and basic transportation costs to and from Cassis.
