LITERARY RESIDENCIES IN WARSAW FOR WRITERS, PLAYWRITERS AND TRANSLATORS FROM BELARUS AND UKRAINE

Born on December 14, 1983, in Minsk, Belarus. Journalist, editor, translator, and researcher of Belarusian and Polishphotography. Member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) since 2009.

 

In 2009, she graduated from the European HumanitiesUniversity (Vilnius, Lithuania). Studied social and politicalphilosophy as well as art and museum studies. She worked atthe Institute of Culture of Belarus in the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage Protection, includingUNESCO sites (2010-2014). From 2015 to 2020 was the Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper “Hunter and Fisherman” (Minsk). Since 2021, she has been working as a media expert and freelance journalist. She writes aboutculture, art history, emigration, and human rights. Since 2010, she has been interested in photography. Was a participant and winner of a number of international exhibitions and competitions. Author of two solo photo exhibitions.

 

Her professional activities and passions – cultural heritage, photography, hunting and fishing – have always beentransformed into texts (articles, interviews, brochures, books, etc.). She has written more than 300 articles. In recent years, she has taken a special interest in Polesie and the figure of the outstanding Polish photographer Zofia Chomętowska, who was born in the territory of modern Belarus.

 

Olga is currently working on a book about her life and photographic legacy. Part of the book will be written duringthe Literary Residency at the SDK. Currently lives in Warsaw, Poland.
