LITERARY RESIDENCIES IN WARSAW FOR WRITERS, PLAYWRITERS AND TRANSLATORS FROM BELARUS AND UKRAINE

Ukrainian writer, essayist, literary critic, candidate of philological sciences (PhD). Feminist, researcher of women’s writing. A graduate of the Faculty of Philology of Lviv National University Ivan Franko. Participant, finalist and winner of many all-Ukrainian and international literary and artistic competitions. Winner of several literary awards. The author of poetry collections “Listen to the sea” (2015), “Hands-words” (2017), “All my birds” (2019), book of short stories “He smells like you” (2017).

 

The debut novel “Zero Wholes, Zero Tens” (2021) won the Fifth All-Ukrainian Literary Competition named of Hryhor Tyutyunnyk, entered the list of the best books published in Ukraine in 2021 (according to the Ukrainian PEN Club).

 

Zharkova studies the traumatic experiences of women in artistic texts, raises issues related to war, trauma, migration, refugees, analyzes the problem of borders in literature and art. R. Zharkova dedicated her newest book of stories “Run, Eurydice!” (2023) to these questions.
