Online workshop for translators from German of children´s and young adult literature

On 26-29 July 2021 the Arbeitskreis für Jugendliteratur e.V. (IBBY Germany) and the Deutscher Übersetzerfonds will host their annual workshop on translation of German children´s and young adult literature entitled „Kein Kinderspiel!“. Due to COVID19 it will be held online. Conference language is German.

The four-day workshop offers 15 translators of children´s and young adult literature the opportunity to tackle specific problems of the genre and discuss current trends. Participants will have the chance to meet authors and critics. Above all, the workshop aims to be a centre for encounters, inspiration and exchange of ideas.

Participants from the time zones UTC, UTC+1 and UTC+2 are allowed. All languages are welcome, translators into 'small' languages are particularly encouraged to apply.

Because the workshop will be held online, participants need to have access to an audio and video capable computer as well as access to Zoom.

The participation in the workshop is free.
