Open call for VISEGRAD LITERARY RESIDENCY PROGRAM 2024!
The call for applications for the 13th edition of the Visegrad Literary Residency Program for writers, poets, literary translators, critics, essayists and journalists from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary is now open!
The 32 residents will carry out their projects at four Host Institutions from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
Duration of the program
In the coming year, 32 Literary Residents will be able to carry out their own projects in four Host Institutions (Bratislava, Budapest, Krakow or Prague) during the selected time period:
– May 1 to June 12, 2024 (The Spring Edition) or
– 1. September to 30. November 2022 (Standard Autumn Edition).
Purpose of the program
The program is intended to support the work and mobility of Literary Residents and create platforms for information exchange. In addition, the program enables the development and promotion of the literature of the Visegrad Group countries in Central Europe. Participants have a unique opportunity to promote their own work, as well as a chance to confront it with their audiences, establish a dialogue to develop their projects.
The program is aimet at writers, poets and translators from the V4 countries with at least one book publication, as well as essayists, literary critics and journalists with at least 3 publications in newspapers, magazines or electronic media (min. 18 years old).
Scholarship
The scholarship includes a stay in the chosen city and a monthly stipend of €1,300 gross (The Spring Edition) or €2,400 gross (Standard Autumn Edition), as well as support from the Host Institution in preparing the stay, organizing literary meetings, interviews and workshops, and establishing contacts with publishers and literary critics.
