Results of an open call for literary residencies in Warsaw!


The jury: Paulina Ciucka (STL), Agnieszka Drotkiewicz (SUL) and Diana Krawiec (SDK, jury secretary) selected the following people to participate in the Literary Residencies in Warsaw for writers, playwriters and translators from Belarus and Ukraine:


Maria Gulina (BY) - journalist, ecological activist, cultural expert, during her residency she will write a novel about life in Belarus in 2015-2020, with references to her activist experience, nature, language, based on feminist and postcolonial studies


Ivan Radyk (UA) - translator, historian, journalist, cultural expert, during the residency he will work on the translation from Polish into Ukrainian of Urszula Honek's book "White Nights"


Alena Piotrovich (BY) - translator from Polish, English and Ukrainian, poet, editor, journalist, author of articles about the Belarusian language and culture, during the residency she will work on the translation from Polish into Belarusian of Jaga Słowińska's book "Sister";


Andrij Bojarov (UA) - visual artist, researcher, essayist, curator of cultural events, during the residency he will work on the translation from Polish into Ukrainian of Karolina Szymaniak's book "To be an agent of an eternal idea. "The Transformations of Debora Vogel's Aesthetic Views";


Egor Konev (BY) - playwright, journalist, author of children's books and scripts for documentary films, during his residency he will work on the drama "The Belarusian Pied Piper" about Vincent Dunin Marcinkiewicz;


Larysa Lebedivna (UA) - poet, author of novels and short stories, doctor of philological sciences, during her residency she will continue the previously started work on the novel "Mother's Testament" (a road novel) about the relationship between a mother and her daughters in the context of the war in Ukraine


Vital Karaban (BY) - playwright and director, during his residency he will work on a drama for a radio play about Warsaw emigrants working as couriers in Warsaw.
