Villa Decius invites playwrights and scriptwriters from Poland and Germany! Open call for residency in Kraków

The Villa Decius Association and the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation in cooperation with the Literary Colloquium Berlin invite Polish and German playwrights and scriptwriters to apply for one-month residential scholarships in Kraków in August or November 2021.

The deadline for submitting the applications expires on June 15th.

The scholarship is addressed to film, TV, radio, video and board games scriptwriters, as well as playwrights from Poland and Germany, who can present at least one film, TV production, theatre/radio play or game that was realised based on their script.

The organizers provide accommodation in the Łaski House, an outbuilding belonging to the renaissance Villa Decius palace and park complex (single room with bathroom, shared kitchen and free access to the internet), monthly grant of 3000 PLN gross (ca. 700 EUR), support in planning and organizing the residency and participation in networking meetings with cultural and creative industries in Krakow. We also hope that while staying at Villa Decius – which hosts six residential programmes at the moment – the residents will embark on the opportunity to make valuable international acquaintances and to explore the possibilities of artistic collaboration.

Writers interested in applying should submit the online application form and attach an example of their work in Polish, German or English that has been realised. Letter of motivation or recommendation are optional. The applications are accepted till June 15th.

The list of chosen residents will be announced until 30th of June 2021. The project offers four monthly scholarships for two Polish and two German artists. The residential stays are planned for August and November 2021. In case of inquiries, please contact Adam Partyka: adam.partyka@willadecjusza.pl

The project is sponsored by the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation.
