LITERARY RESIDENCIES IN WARSAW FOR WRITERS, PLAYWRITERS AND TRANSLATORS FROM BELARUS AND UKRAINE | 2025

Ukrainian writer, poet, essayist and translator, member of the Ukrainian PEN Club. She was born in 1996 in Donetsk.

 

She is the author of the volume of poetry За вашим запитом нічого не знайдено (“Nothing was found at your request”), 2019, the debut novel Її порожні місця(“Her Empty Places”) 2022. The novel was included in the list of the best books of 2022 in the Ukrainian PEN version. Her poems have been translated into English, French, German, Polish, Czech, Hebrew and others.

 

He translates essays and contemporary poetry from Ukrainian into Polish and vice versa for the KONTENT quarterly, StonerPolski magazine, KyivDaily, Litcentr, F-letter and others.

 

She translated Katie Ferris’s book /boysgirls/ from English to Ukrainian (2021).

She is the co-author (together with Vasyl Makhno) of a book of translated poems by Bohdan Zadura Прості істини (“Simple Truths”), which was published by Stary Lew Publishing House (2024).

 

At the beginning of the full-scale war, Gruver volunteered at a refugee shelter in Dnieper and at an orphanage that was evacuated from Kiev to Lviv. In 2023, she worked as a coordinator of the Ukrainian project at the Jewish Museum in Krakow. Lives in Kiev and Krakow. He is currently working on the novel Нерухомість (“Real Estate”).
