Kholoud Charaf – poet, writer, art critic, and activist from Al Mjemir in southern Syria. In 2016, she published her debut volume of poetry entitled “Remains of a butterfly”, which was highly appreciated by critics, pointing to the originality of literary images and metaphors, as well as the author’s unique ability to transform war experiences into beautiful worlds of imagination referring to childhood memories in her native village. For the book “Powrót do gór. Dziennik w cieniu wojny” received the Moroccan Prize Ibn Battuta in the field of travel prose (2019). A scholarship holder of the International Cities of Refuge Network (ICORN) in Krakow.
